FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Bowling Green, KY -- A new homicide task force consisting of the Warren County Sheriff?s Department, Kentucky State Police and Bowling Green Police Department has been formed to investigate new evidence and leads surrounding the 2001 disappearance and homicide of 15-year-old Jessie Marie ?Twilight? Crooks. Twilight was last seen on Tuesday, August 28, 2001 at her Larmon Mill Road residence. Her body was found Monday afternoon, September 10, 2001 in a field off Matlock-Old Union Road.
The Crook?s residence received a phone call from the payphone at Plano Store the evening of her disappearance at around 10:52 p.m. It is believed that Twilight left with someone she knew. The task force is releasing a photograph of a men?s extra large Edmonson County High School baseball jersey that Twilight was wearing when her body was found. This jersey was not hers and police are interested in knowing where this jersey came from.
Authorities believe that the person(s) responsible for the death of Twilight Crooks have said something or done something in the past 5 years to identify themselves. Anyone having information regarding:
· Who picked Twilight up from Plano Store?
· Places she might have gone after leaving the store?
· The events that led up to her death,
· Statements made after her death,
is asked to contact any of the task force agencies or to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at 781-CLUE (2583). We are hoping someone will step forward with information and help give closure to the Crooks family.
